Meet Raygun Robyn owner of www.raygunrobyn.com.

Where are you located?  Baltimore
What do you design?  Shirts for kids and adults and some other crafty stuff too!
Where/How did you learn this?  I have always been crafty and have been an artist my entire life.  When I started making shirts, about a year and a half ago, I was sewing monster appliques on, but this proved to be really time intensive and I wasn’t happy with how it turned out.  I saw the technique I currently use on some crafty and graffiti websites that I often look at and thought it would be a great way to translate my designs.
Where does your inspiration come from?  All over the place.  A lot of my designs are monsters and robots because that’s what I like.  Who doesn’t look super awesome in a Bigfoot shirt?!  I have always been a big nerd, into sci fi, so that is probably where a lot of it stems from.
What do you do to combat creative block?  I get my boyfriend to make me laugh.  Play video games.  Watch reality TV.
Where do you design your creations?  Everywhere, in the car, sitting on the couch, in the shower.  As soon as inspiration hits, I grab the nearest piece of paper and sketch out what I am thinking.  This can prove difficult in the shower.  Then when it comes down to the nitty gritty, I make my shirts outside on the patio.
What does your work space look like right now?  A disaster zone.  I’ve moved a lot recently, so sometimes the hunt for an x-acto knife takes all day.  I own about 9 pairs of scissors because I can never find them when I need them.
How does your family feel about what you do?  They are very supportive.  I’ve always walked to the beat fo a different heavy metal drummer, so at this point they have conceeded.  My Mom was a big influence on me growing up.  We had a TON of art books around the house that I would always look at and she has always been a crafter.  For Christmas, she sent me 2 clay pieces that she had done.  She should really make an Etsy store.
Do you have any advice for someone looking to make their own creations using this method?  Ventilation!  And trial and error.  You will find what works for you and then love it.
Best advice received when starting your business venture?  Don’t get discouraged, its easy to give up, it’s a lot harder to stick with something.
Favorite part of owning your own business?  No boss!
Least favorite?  Never enough time in the day.  Quarterly taxes.
How do you relax?  I like to play video games with my man, play Hide and Go Seek with my cats, Dance Dance Party Party, general shenanigans.
Favorite color?  Red!
Does this color show up in a lot of your work?  Not really, since red is a hard color to bleach, but I try anyway!
If there were more hours in the day, what would you be doing?  Sleeping, promoting my Etsy store.
