My Interview with Meg, Owner of Bode 22

Where are you located?  Utah
What do you design?  Mostly clocks.  Lot and lots of them.  And some other stuff too, like picture frames, mirrors, plexiglass artwork and whatever else I can come up with.
Where/How did you learn this?  I taught myself how to do most of it through trial and error.  There’s usually quite a bit of error involved, but that makes the successes that much better!
Favorite Artist who inspires you?  All of the talented artists/designers/crafters on Etsy.  There are so many that, at times, it can be overwhelming, but I feel honored and inspired to be surrounded by such wonderful people.
Where does your inspiration come from?  Anything and everything.  I am always keeping an eye out for what could become my next project.
What do you do to combat creative block?  I actually haven’t really had to deal with any blocks yet.  I’ve had a ton of ideas swimming in my head for a long time.  I’m still trying to get them all out at this point.
Where do you design your creations?  I do the power tool stuff in the garage and then the detail work in our second bedroom.  I stole our kitchen table to use as a work space and now it’s covered in glue and paint!  Oops!
What does your work space look like right now?  Lol.  I’ll be honest.  It’s a mess.
How does your family feel about what you do?  I’m lucky to have an extremely supportive family.  They are behind me all the way.
Do you have any advice for someone looking to make their own creations using this method?  My advice is to just go for it. 
Best advice you received when starting your business venture?  To be patient.  Sometimes it takes a while for an item to find the right person.
Favorite part of owning your own business?  Just the fact that I do.  I’ve always wanted to.
Least favorite?  All the legalities.  It’s a bit complicated for my liking.
How do you relax?  My husband and I love to watch LOST every week or go out with friends.
Favorite color?  Black
Does this color show up in a lot of your work?  Yes.  I think it’s very clean and looks sharp.  Plus, it goes with a lot of people’s decorating color schemes.
If there were more hours in the day, what would you be doing?  Making a lot more stuff!
